Primarily a manga reader and comedy & shounen patrician. Uni student studying to become a world traveling, bboy manga otaku! ANIMANGA has given me the power to become the best version of myself everyday, the life lessons it instills in me are what I'm most thankful for, without this artform, I wouldn't have the growth mindset I have today.

btw DAMN you have a good body dude
It's been a while since I've listened to Tetoris...... I need to listen to more Teto, every song using her that I've heard has been awesome.
Might look into those MP3 players if I lose or break the one I have or something, I've used it a bit over the past two days though and the experience really feels a lot better than a streaming service... not sure why that is though, maybe it's something to do with that psuedo-nostalgia teenagers get sometimes for stuff from before they were born lol. Or maybe it's to do with an MP3 player as a physical object being more tangible than a website or app on my phone. Or maybe there's a novelty to downloading music and being able to see the files on my computer instead of streaming apps storing them god knows where.
Ohhhh I've been meaning to watch Apocalypse Hotel. That one looks really interesting but I was already trying to keep up with too much by the time it started airing. Somehow never heard of Samurai Flamenco but the art and synopsis peak my interest.... there's another series for the PTW pile at the back of my mind lol. I've heard a lot of good things about Hinamatsuri so I might give J⇔M a read if I ever get in the mood to start some more publishing manga, which is something I try to avoid doing too much since keeping up with publishing manga can be a pain... I struggle keeping up with stuff that's still coming out in general, it's why I've been trying to limit how many seasonal anime I watch at a time.
I've been enjoying basically everything I've been reading/watching, spare a few trashy shows I'm watching for the lulz (looking at you, Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi, that show sucks so much ass). I literally finished Candy Boy's anime like an hour ago as I'm writing this and that was great, cute character dynamics with a pleasant slice of life atmosphere and cute yuri moments. In the middle of watching S1 of Oreimo and it's genuinely amazing, I love series with characters who are earnest about their weird interests. I expected to dislike Kirino but I actually find her to be a really fun and unique take on a tsundere character, and a little sister character who's obsessed with little sisters is a very amusing concept lol. Watched a bit of Space Dandy the other day and I love how it refuses to take itself seriously, plus Bones's animation work on it is insane. Slowly getting through Tiger Mask too and it's a really good old manly melodrama sort of show but the subs for it are shitty and hard to find (fuck animez's owners for changing the site to their shitty manwha one), I wish it'd get picked up by Retrocrush or a decent fansub group... regardless all of the shows I just mentioned might end up becoming favorites of mine lol, they're all really great.
Also really enjoying Ace wo Nerae, Sakura Trick, Senko-san, and Akame ga Kill. I wasn't joking when I said I'm watching too much anime at once lol. I'm also somewhat keeping up with Ninkoro and I'm convinced it's the best thing airing right now, Shaft's doing a great job adapting it and the comedy, while not laugh-out-loud funny, is some solid dark humor. I wanna get back into watching Gintama over the summer, I plan to try watching it French subbed when I learn a bit of the language. It'd be a good excuse to get through such a long series.
I'm enjoying basically all the manga I'm reading right now. Chiro-chan is probably one of my favorite things I've ever read which is surprising. It's a sequel to another manga, Mato-chan, and it's a slightly offbeat moe 4koma manga. Something about it is really fun to read and I like all the characters, it's a simple but effective manga. Also reading Itoshi no Kana and I'm digging it, it's a really lovely romance series with some beautifully drawn sex scenes that somehow don't feel like fanservice. I've read a bit of Bakuman (though I think I'll take a break from it since I've just been reading it due to my school library having volumes of it) and it's a really good shounen, lots of exciting moments and all the talk about the manga industry makes it a lot more interesting to me than more conventional "battle shounen" kinds of series. There's also Ashita no Joe which I'm starting to enjoy more as it goes on, you can really feel Joe's character develop as he gets more into boxing as the story progresses. Wish the translation was better but you stop noticing it when you binge read enough chapters, funny enough. There's also Itoko no Ko which is currently publishing (and it's somehow getting an official english release?!? Can't wait for volume 1 to come out, WILL be buying it) and there's something about it that I find really charming. The summer countryside atmosphere it has is really pleasant and the characters are likeable. It's a good romcom, though chapters are so slow to release :(. I've also read a small chunk of the Yurumates manga (somehow half of it is translated? No complaints though) and it's great, it's a pleasant slice of life while also having a slightly dark/sad sense of humor with immature adult characters. It's hard to describe but it has a really specific charm both in the anime adaptations and in the manga, I even bought all of the physical volumes even though they don't have an official english translation lol. I'm enjoying some of the other series I'm reading or have put on hold to read other stuff too (Monster, Genshiken, Bocchi the Rock, Kyou kara Ore wa Loli no Himo!, Watashi no Kouguchi-sensei, Girl Meets Rock!), but I don't have as much to say about them.
That's a tough one since the whole soundtrack is so consistent, but I think it'd have to be Udonko's OP from season 8. It's catchy and the lyrics are extordinarily stupid lol (thanks Youtube translation feature). I also like like songs that sound like the Tetris theme (isn't it kinda weird that there's two songs from anime I love that sound like the tetris theme? This song from Teekyuu and Miyashita's character song from Mitsudomoe... I'll add that one in this message too, Mitsudomoe also has some insanely good music!!)
Dude, you bringing up using an MP3 player reminds me that I need to try the one I got out. I've been wanting to switch from Youtube Music to an MP3 player since streaming services and modern technology in general suck but I keep putting off actually trying out the one I got lol. How long have you been using an MP3 player? Did you just never switch to music streaming services?
BTW, have you been watching/reading anything good lately? I've been going through that phase of starting and not finishing a bunch of shows/manga lately and I'm finding a lot of series I'm really enjoying but not finishing because there's too much other good stuff I want to check out.... getting a few chapters/episodes into something and then getting in the mood to read something new again.
I've read the few translated chapters of Teekyuu (9 chapters and a few extras, only the first volume is translated :( ) and it's alright. I think the anime's better for that one (and it's actually accessible for an english speaker lol...). The manga's a fairly average comedy but I think the pace of the anime elevates the humor by a lot. Teekyuu's music is insanely good man
Paniponi is great, though I think the manga's superior to the anime. The manga's short chapters feel better fit for the gag comedy format, though the animes great in its own right. Something about the anime makes it feel slow and fever dreamish, though at the same time I think that's one of its strengths. Shaft really ups the stylishness of the visuals too.
I've watched up to the start of the last act/leg of the show, but despite it being over two years since then, most of the designs and major plot beats are etched into my brain. The Gundam Mk. II might be outright one of the best mecha ever designed.
ZZ, F91, Victory, and Hathaway's Flash are the UC titles I'm most eager to get to after finishing Zeta. GQuuuuuuX was a nice reminder of how much I appreciate that flavor of Gundam and anime overall. Kind of a bummer they're doing just twelve episodes, but if it's to get newer fans onboarded into the Universal Century proper, I think the show does a solid job. Not to mention that it does (mostly) stand on its own two legs as a series, considering the baggage of being what it is.
Glad to hear from you again.
No need to cry, your profile is cool too! I just got one cool idea ones and now am not touching or changing it for the next ten years probably lol. And I’m definitely not a genius, I did study this stuff but never actually finished uni. Hence I work as IT support and not a coder. I’m not a spy, and not sure about movie-like tricks… But I have the tools to unlock any computer or laptop I guess, no password can stop me. (Well, I can’t hack site passwords so your MAL account would be safe… for now) Although, with enough research you might know how to do that too ψ(`∇´)ψ
Good good, I’m glad you’re thinking about yourself and doing things you like. I try too but it’s not always easy. Enjoy your free time while you can xD
Yeah, I’m with you on this. I get Covid was not a nice time for a lot of people, but for me and my solitude it was great. I don’t use the Shonen Jump app so no idea ‘what’s in with the kids’ according to it. Isn’t manga on the app in Japanese though, can you read it?
Oh comedy, I’ve watched some comedy anime but not sure I’ve read any proper comedy manga (or I have forgotten it). It’s hit or miss for me sometimes because I don’t always get the Japanese jokes or their references. But still, I liked The Disastrous Life of Saiki K and Arakawa Under the Bridge. Favourite genre hmm… I would say sports? At one point some years ago that was the only type of anime I watched. I’ve been meaning to get back to some sports anime but haven’t found the time just yet. They also have some self-growth lessons and motivational messages in them. Horror is nice but I’d still choose sports over it. And a manga ending would not get me distraught - that means I can finally read it! But I guess horror is not really your thing?
That is a long doc, some nice titles on there too. I only really keep MAL for anime/manga. When I remember, I export it to AniList once or twice a year just in case. For keeping track of books I use goodreads, nothing fancy.
Exceptions to the ‘must be completed’ rule are Blue Exorcist (although it is on pause cus I want to buy the volumes to read), Citrus+ and now Chainsaw Man (it was completed but cus of the anime popularity I guess they decided to continue it?). It is what it is, waiting for it to end again. Do you break any of your reading rules?
Grandmas are on another level xD. Maybe I will beat you once I am a grandma.
Hope you’re having a nice week too. Don’t overwork and undersleep like me. And again, sorry for the late reply…
Yeah I should have added you ages ago honestly, not many people actually read Shouha Shoten and the moment I saw Cromartie High School in your favs (!!!) I knew you had a great taste in manga)
Feel free to ask for recos in any genre, or just browse my favs / Stacks
(I will check it out later 100% if I will run out of shows to watch or mangas to read)
I really liked Twilight Suzuka, I think the way the other cast members interact with her leads to a lot of good laughs and character moments!
Should be watching more Ninku soon, I'll keep you posted.
