Both have soft, squishy art styles and center around young people exploring the mysteries of their world while facing character drama and growth along the way. Both also deal with how things like technology can integrate with and affect peoples' lives, as well.

The story is about two young girls in a world that is corrupted by the military and politicians. Both series focus on everyday life and friendship in difficult times. If you are intrigued by the contrast between cute girls doing cute things and the disturbing feeling that the world around them will not allow them to live like this for a long time, then you should pay attention to these stories

• Both shows deceive you into thinking they're gonna be Sci-fi oriented but instead they're much more of a Human Drama! • The Art-style of Dead Dead Demons & the cast of Bokurano hides the fact of how much disturbing & mature the story can get! • Dead Dead Demons is more of a Coming of age story dealing with how possibly humans will act in an Alien Invasion meanwhile Bokurano got a more time capsule feel to it with making itself more Dark but still keeping things realistic! • Both shows are filled with Great Plot Twists & Revelations that'll blow your mind!

Both shows are very chill and melancholic post-apocalyptic stories.

Even though the plot is more serious the interaction of the girls is very funny. More importantly Asobi Asobase makes some references to Dededede especially with Olivia's brother.

Both shows feature characters who are trying to live life to the fullest, or trying to live as normally as possible despite a huge apocalypse.

Similar in their exploration of the distinction between good and evil, human reactions facing the unknown. DDDDD also has mechs (though not the main focus)!

These two shows are completely different, but at the same time have a lot of very similar vibes. The key theme in both is the reaction of different parts of society to a certain significant event (a terrorist attack in the subway and the arrival of aliens). In both shows, there is a lot of direct social criticism and in the form of metaphors too. And both have: - a lot of mystery - a lot of philosophy - unique art style - not cliched characters - a mix of everyday life and comedy with drama - wonderful music - complete finished story

Both have worlds that have a delicate balance being tested, but lean on the perspective of different factions

Both pieces of media have an overarching feeling of melancholy and nostalgia, despite both shows being comedies. They both feature alien invasions, but the main focus is the character interactions between the cast.

Both explore friendship between girls and have a calm and almost slice of life atmosphere, but with extraterrestrial entities that make it more unsettling. Both shows focus on the sci-fi or fantasy part of the show while still being able to have deep and complex human bonds between the characters. They both can explore the fiction of aliens, but still keep it down to earth when it needs to.

Both are set in mysterious sci-fi worlds where society appears normal, but there is an alien object in the sky, constantly watching. The series share a similar atmosphere, blending romance and mystery, with a forgotten past that the characters must uncover to reveal the truth about their world.

Both titles focus on urban legends and conspiracy theories, quantum effects and stuff like that. Additionally the main character here resembles Lain in the part where she acts differently depending on time-lines. Wires and radio take a huge part in both titles.

Both are science fiction series involving an alien invasion, war, and international politics, featuring adolescent girls and a slice of life vibe that juxtaposes its grand scale. Though Brigadoon is more action-based and generally less realistic, while DDD is more drama and slice of life based.

Falling in love, the growing pains of becoming an adult, how your relationships with your friends and family change as you grow up-- and social commentary about morality, justice, standing up for what or whom you believe in, police and government corruption, "it's us or them" mentalities, and what it really, truly means to "be yourself". ... All disguised as a show about aliens.

Just to understand the references from "Isobeyan"

Two girls who'd go to insane lengths to be with eachother while an apocalyptic event is waiting to happen. Decievingly cute artstyles that don't at all prepare you for the dark and emotional roller coaster both these series will take you on!

Both series dive deep into themes of humanity, love, and the consequences of conflict, all while blending sci-fi elements with emotional storytelling. Both stories challenge expectations, build up to impactful conclusions, and leave you reflecting long after the credits roll.

Both center around young female protagonists dealing with alien invasions, providing a rich exploration of adolescence under extraordinary circumstances. They also delve deeply into the psychological and emotional states of their young characters, exploring themes of fear, anxiety, and the heavy burden of responsibilities thrust upon them and both offer complex character portrayals and social commentary, addressing societal issues such as media influence, government control, and the pressures of growing up.
