It's not the best anime ever of whatever type. It's not perfect from the second one to the last one. But it is the perfect representation of what I love in anime.

This anime is nice and entertaining, but it doesn’t adapt faithfully the manga and it doesn’t get it, so keep this in mind if you decide to watch it.
If you want to approach Ranma 1/2 I personally recommend the remake or the manga, both of which I consider way better than the retro anime, the latter is still a valid product anyway.
The versions of the characters, especially Ranma and Akane, proposed here are significantly mischaracterized, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but here, in my opinion, they are mischaracterized for the worse ... very complex and peculiar characters in the manga are ...

Coming into this show, I had the idea that this was going to be the generic villainess story with the MC being OP and showing up the "Heroes", and while that did happen at first, there are considerable developments that stray away from the formula. And while it's definitely not amazing at it, it dives into the political aspect of being an OP noble by exploring how the different factions of the kingdom seek to gain favour.
