Ehh... I watched this because a co-worker recommended it and really wanted me to watch it, but...

It's really just a bare bones basic rom-com shoujo. There is genuinely nothing I can recall that is particularly enjoyable about it; for me, it feels a lot like a mesh of all the shoujo tropes, but never really introducing any substance to them. Like, I genuinely cannot tell you why Ishimori likes the guy. And Ishimori's personality is very much on the passive side.

Easily one of my top 10 anime. Honestly, I'd recommend watching it just simply because of the absolute BANGER openings this anime has to offer. It stands the flow of time, in my opinion, but there are some typical anime scenes reminiscent of the era in which it aired. What frustrates me about this show is that it doesn't do much with its ridiculous, trashy premise.

Yes, there's nudity from time to time and even a couple of suggestive/erotic moments that caught me off guard but by the end, the gimmick ended up being a distraction for what the show actually was: another forgettable anime romance.

The show is still pleasant enough in its own right. Stripped of its sexually inappropriate moments, there's a comforting vibe that this show exudes that I believe stems from it's uncomplicated, undemanding narrative and its likable, albeit clichéd protagonists.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SKIP THE LAST EPISODE. I don't know how, but if you lasted through the majority of the show like I did, the last episode makes EVERYTHING ALL THE WORSE AND COMPLETELY RUINS IT ALL. It's literally just an average harem isekai-trash anime but I watched it for the stellar VA casting... but alas, PLEASE, it's really not worth completing.

You can give 1 point for the fact that there is at least something close to the word "animation". Rarely and barely there is at least some movement so you can't say it's PowerPoint only.

Final vote 4: At the plot I would give an 8 because I found it interesting, the problem is everything else: I would give a 3 to the animations because they are horrendous (I regret those of Ex-Arm), to the graphics a 6 because it is acceptable and to the dialogues I would give a 5 because many are flat and without spirit.

A disappointment that worsens at each episode, arrive at the end and you understand that it has not left you anything.
They have already announced the second season but I hope in a remake of the first with a different animation study!

An anime whose central character is one that has been little explored: a sports team's stadium.

Over the years, we've seen many spokon that encourage us to take an interest in a particular sport. We've seen many slice-of-life animes that motivate us to take an interest in a specific activity. It's just that until now, we haven't seen a story that makes us more interested in the place than in the activities. Ballpark brings a baseball stadium to life completely. Not in a literal sense; it's not like they humanize it with some kind of power. Rather, they tell us the stories of all the people ... it hosts throughout the regular season.

A stadium has a lot going on at the same time. Therefore, a great decision was made not to have a main character or a defined plot thread to follow. Each episode of the anime is segmented into three stories, each with a main character, always related to the world of baseball and its stadium. We'll see stories of love, overcoming difficulties, friendship, frustration, reunions, laughter, and tears. When it comes to a passion like sports, it's impossible not to have a great repertoire of stories to tell.

On the other hand, the story has its main character, a character we associate with the title of this work. Ruriko, a beer vendor extremely passionate about both her job and sports. She's a protagonist who's always doing something somewhere in the stadium, which gives the story a sense of life. The focus doesn't always have to be on her so she can continue living her life. From time to time, you'll see her as a background character in other people's stories, and it doesn't feel forced because it's normal to meet an employee inside the stadium. She's a character with a lot of charisma, very energetic, and somehow she'll earn your trust. You could say she has what it takes to sell the product that is anime.

The last two episodes of this anime could easily be the best of the season, especially the last one. The finale is an episode that tells us that the anime's story is over, but the story of this stadium and its fans will continue. It's an episode that fits very well with the transitional period we're experiencing. While they prepare for a new sports season, they also prepare us for a new anime season. It's an episode that invites us to embrace change without being tormented by the bad things that happened in the past. It's an episode that you can hold in your memory and heart for a long time.

Ballpark is one of those stories that can go unnoticed but is crafted with great care by the production team. It's one of those shows that makes me grateful that spring has been a slow season because otherwise, I doubt I would have given it a chance during a season with bigger titles. It's an anime you have to give a chance, even if you don't like baseball, believe me, you'll end up being a fan of our beloved MotorSuns.

I've watched 11 episodes, and it's time to talk...
Okay, I'll detail every aspect of the show.
First, the plot is fantastic and constantly complex, sometimes with unexpected twists and turns. Unlike some shows that simply want to show events, To Be Hero X always tries to shock the viewer. Sometimes, you'll never expect the real enemy.
The events are built in a unique way. Showing the stories of several heroes with different timelines and linking these timelines is a wonderful and interactive way to build events. I don't see any complications in building events, and I have no problems ... with this point. The heroes' stories will be completed in the second season. It's a shame we have to wait 💔🥲
Episode 11 was a strong episode in terms of connecting the timelines.
Let's come to the narration and the pace of events, which may be one of the biggest negatives of the work for some. I don't have any problem with the narration as long as I enjoy the plot.
For example, there was a question "How did Quen meet Xian?" and this was explained in episode 11, so things shouldn't be rushed. Everything will be explained. I didn't feel rushed in the pace of events, and I enjoyed everything. The rapid development of the heroes lacks logic, but it's necessary to reinforce the idea of the work. We're talking about a fast-paced world where news spreads at lightning speed, so the development of the heroes is logical in this way.
The idea of the work is partially consumed, but the presentation is beautiful.
The work is very deep. Most of the episodes presented Powerful ideas and messages, each episode has its own depth and drama, which makes it different from any other superficial, powerfully moving work. The work clearly presented realistic projections and wonderful messages that I'm sure you understood.
The character aspect is both good and bad. For example, creating a story for each hero is a good thing. There are contrasts in their personalities, but the character conflicts are almost nonexistent, and we didn't have enough time to get to know all the dimensions of the character. It's only three or four episodes, and it's impossible to build and develop a character clearly.
However, the romantic relationships aren't traditional, but rather difficult and dramatic. Sometimes there are treachery and betrayal, as in the story of E-soul, or feelings of jealousy between characters, as in the story of Queen. This is okay, in addition to the relationships between the characters. Of course, the character design is beautiful, and the voice acting is more than excellent.
Let's come to the directing, which is one of the best aspects of the work. I can't describe the feeling I felt while watching Nice's fights, or the fights in the story of E-Soul, or the directing of the dramatic scenes in the story of Xian. The directing is wonderful, but not in all scenes.
The drawing and animation are excellent, and I liked the transition between 2D and 3D. It's not very professional, but it's okay.
The music is good, and the opening is Inertia. Crazy and intense, and there's a good soundtrack, and I liked Shiyan's songs! 🤍
I had a blast watching this high-end masterpiece. It's a really great work.

Most ecchi shows are mediocre, but occasionally you find a gem.
This anime is extremely straightforward. You know what you're signing up for before even reading the plot. If you don't like gooner degeneracy, then this show is clearly not for you.

The art style is so befitting of the dystopian reality this show is based in. The music that follows each action engrosses you in the back and forth.
Learning about these characters' pasts is what keeps you attached to each character, and the voice actors killed it, both in sub and dub.
This show is genuinely inspiring, and I can see the inspiration it drew from Cowboy Bebop through Shinichiro Watanabe. This is what anime should look and feel like. Art in motion that brings you along for the ride.

I'll start by saying that I have no idea why this show is rated so low on Crunchyroll.

Trash Isekai is my guilty pleasure genre, however, I like to think I'm pretty strict and objective when it comes to reviewing and rating these shows. The Crunchyroll rating as of right now is a 3.8/5, which, if you don't know, means that the vast majority of people think the show is not good. Unfortunately, Crunchyroll does nothing about the stupid people using its rating system, so the vast majority of shows are above 3.0 rating due to the aforementioned stupid people rating everything 5 stars for ... some reason. The general rule that I came up with is that if a show is below a 4.0, it's not even worth considering 99 times out of 100. Average shows that would normally sit at a 5 on MAL are from 4.0 to 4.3 on CR. A 6-7 on MAL is a 4.4 - 4.6 on CR. And 8-10 on MAL is anything 4.7 or higher on CR. My rules aren't 100% accurate, however. Shows like 'In Another World with My Smartphone' should be below a 4.0 yet it sits at 4.3 right now while 'Handyman Saitou in Another World' sits at 4.6 because it was ravaged by bad ratings after episode 1 dropped. The system isn't flawless, but it works most of the time. Sorry about this paragraph, but the context for the rating disparity is important.

With that being said, a 3.8 does not seem appropriate for this show given my rules. If the CR rating system worked as it should, this show, realistically should sit around the 2.5 mark. I just fail to see how this show is any different than other Isekai Trash we get, yet it's rated so much lower.

I'll get into the details of the show now:

GOODS:
- The initial theme of a prior king from a sort of sci-fi fantasy world being reincarnated feels new, which should lead to more interesting development than that of an Otaku for the 100th time.
- The magic system that the new world runs off of is new and seems kind of fun. I'd like to see it get more flushed out more than it was this season, with some rules as to how it works in more detail.
- The show doesn't seem to have a Harem subplot or ecchi in any fashion so far, which I hate putting as a plus, but, for Trash Isekais, that is becoming more norm than not.

BADS:
- The CGI should have been left in the trash (per usual). It's obvious the budget wasn't high (per usual). But I think the couple of times it was used, wasn't needed as there wasn't even that much action in this show, nor at the times the CGI was on screen for that matter. The animators obviously did not have any qualms about sticking in still frames with "whoosh" lines to convey fighting or movement, so why not just do that for the CG scenes?
- The initial plot device of the MC previously being a cold-hearted, ruthless king holds almost zero weight in the show. We don't see him growing up different because of his previous personality, or shunned due to his social incapability. He's just some normal kid for 99% of the screen time. Why bother setting up some backstory for him, have the over-arching plot be his absolution, then throw it out the window after the first episode? At the very least, have him acting more grown-up than he does instead of having random outbursts of emotions as if he can't control it or wouldn't be dispositioned to have lessened feelings from his previous life.
- Every character he meets is like cardboard, including the main cast. Every person in the show is one of two things: soulless or a walking trope. If you want anyone to take the character growth moments seriously, make us actually like the characters. Actually explore the way they think and feel past just inserting conflict that toddlers could relate to. The show is obviously meant to be for a more mature audience with the set-up, so why does every interaction between characters feel like I'm watching Dora the Explorer?

All in all, the show is nothing to write home about. The rating on Crunchyroll is too low compared to other shows of almost identical quality, (which is average for what we get nowadays). The worst sin the show really commits is not living up to its potential. If you like trash isekais and can get through some pretty cringe "heartwarming" moments, you might enjoy this show. Otherwise, I'd steer clear of it based off of wasted time alone.

It's pretty peak, after 1k+ episodes it's really bingable but also really good for watching some here and there. The characters are nice and you feel along with them a lot. Is this show great? No but it's pretty decent pretty good and better than most Reincarnation shows that average 6.7 or 7.1. The story isn’t the most unique, and some parts felt rushed or underdeveloped. Maybe it’s due to the anime adaptation, since I didn’t read the light novel. Still, I found it charming in its own way. Hello. I'll start by saying this is going to be a long one. Really long. Mainly because it will contain an "intro" and after all that, the review for the anime itself. Sorry.
I've read the sauce so I know a little more, but I won't spoil any. Another thing I need mentioning: pls understand the difference between "good media" and "enjoying a piece of media". Good/bad media is based on objective looks into the creation of said media. Script, drawings, music, pacing etc. But you can enjoy media regardless of its quality. "This movie is sht but it the last movie I watched with my ... grandpa so I really enjoy it." Or: "I've seen this movie with my ex. She cheated on me. I hate her guts! I don't wanna rewatch it ever again!" Our experiences modify the way we perceive media so, pls, understand the difference between "I like this anime" and "this anime is good".
And now on to the good stuff. Two major points that people pointed out on forums and such as to why this anime is "bad" were: 1) its just a copy of Mushoku Tensei and 2) the low quality graphics dragged down this story. Guess what? This anime is bad, but those two points are wrong :))))
1) No, this is not a copy of Mushoku Tensei, any more than saying a potato is a copy of a tomato. You know, "The Columbian exchange" stuff, both had an impact etc. Where I'm going with this? Yes, both authors created some new, amazing universes. But thats it. Thats all the common factors. Americas = isekai, magic. Tomato enters Europe and changes the cooking life = Mushoku Tensei. After a while, potato also changes the cooking life = The beginning after the end.
Now the major differences. MT is sh*t. Before you get triggered, go back and read the stuff about "good anime" vs "i like this anime". Is the world he created amazing? Yes. It felt like something new in the isekai genre? Absolutely. Unfortunately, the author is a hack. All he had was a starting point and then he went off the tracks. Stupid decisions, stupid interactions, stupid unlikely character traits, all for the simple result: plot-twists! I'm comparing him to george r martin. Both created an amazing new world, but lost their way, had no idea how to finish it. And so they went for the sure way to remain relevant: create sensation, kill some beloved characters, make it wild. We all know where Game of Thrones ended up. The last season, that was abysmal, contained ideas directly from george r martin. He saw how the public reacted to it, got scared and now he keeps inventing reasons as to why he can't finish the book. Finish the book, george!!! Where was I? Oh, yes: sh*t authors, drove themselves into a corner with their lousy writing. The sad part is people still care about MT, still hold the idea that this is a good media.
Still on the differences topic. The Beginning After the End has some kind of a plan regarding writing, something like a checklist. "This goes to this, this must happen, this one must to this stuff"... You can understand the "flow", you can predict what might happen next (to some extent, ofc). All of this already puts it above MT. So, again, is "The beginning after the end" a copy? Obviously not. But also, is this story better than MT? Yes, but thats like saying a 4 is better than a 2 rating. Both are bad. Next point.
2) Give it a rest! Even with grade-A video material, the story is still bad. I do know how the story goes (so far) and I don't know about you, but I'd rather watch a 360p, 2000-era smartphone-filmed movie with kittens playing than an 8k video of raping 10 year old kids. You know what I mean? The story should be more important than the quality of the video. Are the graphics bad? Yes, very bad. But stellar studio-work still would've made for a bad story in the end (check out "the 100 gf that realy really really love me" or something like that. The story is sh*t but the studio did an amazing job about everything regarding them. Incredible expressions and micro-gestures, animation flow, VA and sound mixing etc... Everything). So the visuals are not the (only) problem here.

With all of that out of the way, back to the main program. We all know an anime is usually a promotion tool for the main revenue, LN/manga/game. While we, the public, see it as a new addition to our collection, the producers see it mainly like a way to increase the sales for said source. Sometimes we get lucky and we get a great anime adaptation, sometimes (most times) nor really.
Well, this anime is not good. Period. The source is not great, but at least you could follow the story. Lets delve into all that starting with.... Synopsis. Its kinda wrong. Very simplistic and most facts are not really true, but I guess it can give you a general (wrong) idea. If you start watching it, you won't drop it because the of the synopsis :))
The script is a mess. Yes, adapting a piece of media to a different format involves some kind of transformation, usually from words to visuals. You can (and should) takes advantage of this to highlight the positive points of your novel. Lets say you have a fight that spans across 3 pages. Well, now you can get it done in 30 seconds with the added bonus of beautiful, flowing visuals. Or the character is troubled by something, thats described in a simple one sentence. Well you can show it to us by having the character sigh, having his shoulders dropped, showing us his eyebrows etc. You get the gist. Guess what? None of that here. A big surprise, I'm sure. Just to help you realise, about 80% of the original story is simplified of dropped entirely. And this is about the starting episodes. By episode 9, the quality drops even more. And then, 12th episode is a joke (as a story, visuals, fight choreography, voice acting, pacing... =everything) but no one's laughing. They've changed "a couple" of stuff from the source and in doing so, some of the acts happening seem weird(er). Do you remember the old TV shows format? The bad ones I mean. Thats what we get here. For example, one episode is "Daddy, I hate u." "Oh, no. Now I understand, I was wrong". Yep, this is what that whole episode was all about. The next one, again, just a summary of what the book was all about. They cut like half of stuff (maybe even more), making the story about A goes to B, goes to C, therefore D. We don't get any reasons, no character development for future (they wish) seasons. Nothing. Do you know "straight as an arrow"? Thats not it. That implies planning, strength, aim etc. No, this is more like a pebble rolling downhill. And because of all those heavy changes, the pacing is all wrong. It is obvious they wanted some key events from the book to happen in very specific episodes. And its not working. This should've been an 24-episodes season. Or at least a 1st cour/2nd cour, as they do it nowadays... You can't stretch the story just to make it fit your mold. The books are kinda weirdly constructed and you need a studio that knows how to do it. More so because later the story will get even more convoluted. And that way of writing.. Geez... A 3rd person way of storytelling narrated as a 1st person viewpoint. "My eyes narrowed as I regarded her". Who tf talks like that? And while the earlier books we're somewhat "normal" in length, by the time when COVID happened, 1 book gets double number of pages, sometimes even more (he needed the money income, i know). Also, this way of describing stuff gets even more frequent. I don't even want to know if more seasons are on the way....
Visuals. Yeah, really bad. The designs, the landscapes, the fights, color palette etc, Everything is low quality. I'll mention that we have very specific descriptions as to how some characters look like and they messed up even that (ep 10 was it?). The cinematography is really bad.
Audio. FFS, I can't remember the OP and ED... Brb, I need to rewatch it... Ok, back. The OP is ok. Decent song, the graphics have a lot of "easter eggs". Ok, not really, but the "normal" viewer won't know what some scenes are all about. The ED is bland. But I noticed studio A-CAT. Yeey, now I know who to blame. Thank you for writing it every fking 20 seconds :)) VAs. Well, does it even matter at this point? Plus, the choice to use the "Grey" voice for the inner monologues is wrong. I can't tell you why, but trust me :))
What else? Character development. With all that script chopping, take a guess :)) The world-building is a joke. What else? Really, what else was next? Remembering all the bad stuff gave me a headache. Fight choreography and the soft magic system. Forget it. They did. Next, what? Pacing? I feel like I've said it before ( but again, it is sh*t).

Everything being said and done, I won't recommend it (uh, no way!). I'm giving it a 3, for some of the visuals and for the idea of a story. No return value, obviously.
There are 11/12 books out (about 6k pages), so you can get a "better picture" of what this story is all about. Even if the writing is not great, it tells an interesting idea. Plus a couple of nice stuff, development, jokes etc. Even with the wide area of plot contrivances (even if the author gives a reason as to why they are not, they are, don't believe him), you can still enjoy the books. That way you can also understand why most people hate this adaptation. And I end this with how I started: remember there is a difference between "good media" and "liking a media", so you might even like the books.
And yes, me convincing people to check out those books (even if I think that they are poorly written), something this anime failed to; the irony is not lost on me :))))

A big disappointment to a great webcomic, where they butcher the whole thing by their terrible animation.

In The Beginning After the End, do we follow Arthur who is king Grey reborn into another world. We start from the day he is reborn and follow him and the people around him as he grows up. It is classic fantasy isekai, but is told with greater detail since we truly follow him as he grows up.

This show is extremely affected by the show's quality of adaptation, where it can mostly be seen by the animation quality. The animation in itself is horrible, it is done with very ... little details on both big and small actions, with fights mostly consisting of panel changes and not smooth movements between the characters. Almost all fights are ruined by them going at one frame for each action, thereby they are barely animated. There are only a very few moments in the show where the fights are done with a minimum level of animation.
When looking at the dialogue scenes is it also very disappointing, since often are the characters just staring with their mouths moving, and characters that are not speaking are just still images. This all together just ruins the whole experience of the show, since it is hard to enjoy a show where the animation isn’t even average and the lack of quality takes all your attention.

But if we look at the plot separate from the animation, is the plot quite nice. As we follow Arthur do we see him struggle with different things, his emotions from his previous life, learning a new world, and also him just having to live with being a kid again. This gives a nice plot where we see him interact and learning his new world, while his surroundings also reacts to him, making the plot moving forward.The only issue is in some small things in the adaptation, that could have been done better in regards to future plotlines, but in itself is the plot rather nice and really makes you feel like you are following someone's life.

Character wise is most of the meat very much on Arthur, since he is the one we are following throughout the whole season. Arthur is a great character, because he is not perfect, he has issues and even though he has knowledge and skill, does he still meet challenges. While we mostly focus on him through the show, they are not neglecting the other characters around him, though the difference is that they are being built for the long term of the story. So the side characters do not see big changes this season, but instead are having their foundation laid for the future. This overall shows great characters, but with some of them being a slow burner.

Overall the story and characters are great, but is completely ruined by the animation quality of the show. So I cannot recommend this show, but I will recommend reading the webcomic or the light novels, if you are interested in a fantasy isekai where we follow the main character through his life.

The Beginning After the End was one of the most highly anticipated light novel adaptations to come out from outside Japan. Written by Brandon Lee, known by his alias as TurtleMe, this story takes a more careful and genuine approach to Isekai—a genre not typically praised for its strong writing or compelling characters. Boasting one of fantasy’s richest worldbuilding, a meticulously detailed magic system, compelling character-writing, and immersive storytelling, any adaptation—be it manhwa or anime—had some pretty big shoes to fill. After a long wait, the ten-year light novel finally received the anime adaptation the fans have long been waiting for, yet they were not ... happy.

Given how loved and praised the original light novel and manhwa adaptation was, it begs the question: why did one of Isekai’s most well-loved stories receive such poor treatment in its anime adaptation? The backlash grew so loud that the author had to make a statement acknowledging their complaints. And while he didn’t explicitly address his grievances, his disappointment in the adaptation was unmistakably evident.

Quick disclaimer: Despite being a fan of the original light novel myself, this review won’t be a comparison between the adaptation and its source material. The majority of the disappointment The Beginning After the End inspires is mostly due to Studio A-Cat failing to translate the light novel’s writing quality into an anime form, and while these grievances are valid, criticism grounded in comparison fails to provide a fair evaluation of the anime in and of itself. But what remains true with the majority of its criticism is the lack of care, effort, and ambition in adapting this work. While the anime does have its strengths, every good thing you can say will evidently be followed by a “but.”

An episode in, a rushed nature of introduction became painfully clear—overloaded with exposition and character setups squeezed into a brief 20-minute runtime that extends throughout the whole series. Instead of taking the time to introduce the characters, magic system, and world coherently, each episode resembled that of a disjointed slideshow. Its fragmented vignettes gave the impression of a disorganized production, each scene feeling like it’s completely separate from the other despite following the correct timeline.

The Beginning After the End’s world shows an underlying complex magic system. However, the complexity is ultimately dumbed down by a poor introduction, where the concepts of augmenters and conjurers are undermined by weak lectures and visual aids that rival primary school presentations.

The animation and voice acting fall significantly short, even when compared to lower-budget Isekai adaptations. Studio A-Cat’s execution lacks the emotional nuance necessary to convey character traits—Alice’s vulnerability, Reynold’s immaturity yet caring warmth, Sylvia’s selfish yet motherly nature, and Arthur’s curiosity and growth are all diminished. Rather than capturing the awe and vulnerability of someone discovering magic and family for the first time, the production portrays an overly detached tone that undermines the story’s emotional core. While Arthur’s guarded demeanor from his past life justifies some of the restraint, it should have never stripped away his humanity or youthful curiosity.

Still, credit must be given where it’s due. The Beginning After the End’s biggest strength is a rare gem we can find in its protagonist. I praise the series for the way it depicts the characters as individually flawed but provides room and appropriate progression for growth and redemption. Among these characters is Arthur—previously King Grey—whose character writing stands out the most.

Most reincarnation stories follow an overused blueprint: a shut-in NEET or burned-out salaryman dies, is reincarnated or transported, and suddenly becomes an overpowered genius—no questions asked. They rush emotional and intellectual growth, often redeeming flaws and absolving terrible past behavior for the sake of an empty power fantasy. Only a few titles distinguish themselves to be a cut above the rest—to name a few: Log Horizon, keeping its protagonist grounded in strategy as that’s his biggest strength; The Eminence in Shadow, which embraced the protagonist’s strength pre-reincarnation; Re:Zero, that maintains Subaru’s physical weakness while emphasizing emotional resilience; and Mushoku Tensei, which—albeit has its issues—expertly portrays how someone can grow past their trauma.

The Beginning After the End takes a similar approach in its storytelling to that of The Eminence in Shadow, where the protagonist isn’t strong because of reincarnation. Arthur is strong because he was King Grey—someone whose title was earned through brutal one-on-one duels, and social training appropriate for someone assuming the gravitas of a king.

What sets Arthur apart is that his strengths and other seemingly perfect traits don't just carry over. Much like a foreign exchange student translating what he already knows to a new language, Arthur had to translate his knowledge and experience into a new context: an entirely new and immature body, a different magic system, new styles of combat, unfamiliar political structures, and a society he had to integrate into from the ground up. This makes his progression not only believable, but earned.

His magical proficiency isn’t some divine gift of reincarnation, either. His past world had a system akin to mana called “Ki.” It’s similar in principle to augmentation specifically in this new world. This background provides a believable foundation for his competency as an augmenter. Similarly, the mismatch between his combat knowledge and his immature body is a small yet crucial detail to establish a sense of realism to his development. Unfortunately, my praises end here.

As the adaptation currently stands, there is no indication the anime would distinguish itself as anything more than your typical Isekai. Despite having all the ingredients to prepare a thought-provoking and well-written story, the adaptation comes across less like a passion project and more like a marketing investment—a promotional piece to direct new fans to the more delicately crafted manga and light novel. And in all honesty, that is a direction that I wholly encourage everyone to go to—whether you enjoyed the anime or not.

Sometimes being perfect, results in you being hated by the people around you and being tossed aside for being too-perfect.

This anime focuses on the two sisters, Philia and Mia, who are separated after Philia’s fiance sells her off to their neighboring country. We then get to see how Philia’s life starts evolving by not being surrounded with people jealous of her abilities, and Mia left behind in a country who would sell their own saint just because she was too-perfect.

Skeleton Knight in Another World turned out to be a surprisingly fun and enjoyable isekai anime. While the story moves at a slightly slower pace, the world-building and steady character development kept me engaged throughout. It has a nice mix of action, fantasy, and humor, making it a solid watch for fans of the genre.
