Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru. / From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman / 片田舎のおっさん、剣聖になる !

The art style is similar to some popular anime, but the sword fights/duels/clashes are actually well directed [CGI]. The main and support characters are fine. Is it enjoyable to watch? Well, for me, yes, except for episode 6. It doesn't seem right after finishing the first five episodes tbh. The rest of the episodes is good. If you're planning to binge-watch this one, I would be frank, well it's not that lively but it's enjoyable to watch. Don't let the bad review cloud your mind, at least give it ...

🌊 Ena Sea of Love & Sacrifice 🪸 °6.8° °good° 💯%🔍

“The salinity will be high this afternoon at 55 parts per million…” That's the type of weather report one hears when one lives down under. We're talking waaay down under sea-level, underwater〰> Sponge Bob's neighbors. It looks like the Greek isles. Look up to watch the 🐟 🐠 🐡, which occupy the empty space overhead, instead of birds 🦈💦

That is how the Ofunehiki people live. They are human descendants of the sea god and a young girl who was sacrificed to him generations back (😮❓). People who live ...

Lets get one major caveat out of the way. If you are new to Muv Luv, this anime is not for you. The biggest issue with this show is it is an adaptation to a visual novel that is the third entry in its series, and it is heavily reliant that you know what happened in those other two. So if you are new to Muv Luv, do not watch this YET. Go read the visual novels first. Muv Luv is a fantastic epic that deserves the title of the greatest VN of all time. You can find Muv Luv (Extra + Unlimited) and Muv ...

A goddam masterpiece. That's what it is. Lycoris Recoil isn't just cute anime girls using guns. It's a deep political action thriller and I love it for that. It isn't afraid to go dark, to the very depths of ethics and humanity to look itself in the mirror and ask the hard questions. There's no such thing as peace without evil, and a balance is always required. Peace without Evil is just Delusion.
There's Lycoris, cute lil school girls clearing out "evil" without anyone knowing for the greater good. Lycoris flower, or Red Spider Lily as it's more commonly known, is a symbol usually associated with ...

Wasteful Days of High School Girls had its funny moments and a few genuinely good episodes, but overall, it felt more like a “girl version” of The Daily Life of High School Boys — just not quite as strong in comparison 👍.

The characters each had quirky traits that made for some entertaining scenes, and the humor was light and random. If you're into absurd comedy and slice-of-life antics, there’s definitely something here to enjoy. But the jokes can be hit or miss, and it doesn’t always keep the same energy throughout.

It’s not a must-watch, but it’s a decent one-time watch — especially if you're extremely ...

A Gentle Show, Beautifully Made — But Greatness Requires More Than Grace

There’s no doubt that Frieren is a lovingly crafted series. Its quietness is refreshing, its animation polished, and its central theme — the passage of time and the weight of memory — is handled with care. It’s serene, introspective, and even moving at times. But once the stillness settles and the dust clears, one question remains: does it truly deserve to be considered the greatest anime of all time?

At the time of writing, Frieren sits at the very top of MyAnimeList — ahead of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Steins;Gate, Hunter x Hunter, Clannad: After Story, ...

My issue with this show boils down to really one thing. It doesn't really have the same emotional impact to me that the mainline series has. In fact, it feels kind of uninspired sometimes. The characters other than Knuckleduster don't really resonate with me. Hell, Koichi just feels like a less expressive Deku. It feels like a re-hash of the series but in a way that tries to go for a darker tone but ends up losing what made the original special in the first place. That outpouring of genuine emotion from the cast, the moments that feel inspirational from both All Might and Deku. ...

The whole movie maintained my attention till the climax, then I cried, went to wash out my tears and continued. Again, I started crying, went to wash my tears and continued. I did this 3 times till the end of the movie, and still I was shocked, thinking this in reality happened with innocent children in Japan and anywhere the war took place.

If you have watched Barefoot Gen, then you should watch this.
If you're looking for sibling (brother-sister) anime, you should give it a try.
The artwork of Studio Ghibli was beautiful as always.
The characters were realistic and enjoyable.
Everyone will love the series, knowing that it ...

A solid 6.5/10

The anime has a really slow start to the point where I had to take breaks every few minutes into each episode. It gets better from around the 5th episode where the plot slowly starts progressing.
I started truly enjoying it 9/10 episodes in😭 yes it took me a lot to come so far in the series but now I’m waiting for the rest of the weekly episodes.
I would recommend watching this only if you are up to date and watching episodes weekly, def not recommending binge watching! It’s a good show if you have nothing else on your watch list.

Let's get this out of the way first: switching between multiple art styles is not terribly impressive. Mary Poppins merged live action with cartoons back in 1964, and the blending of various animation styles is nearly as old as animation itself. Similarly, satire of the classic superhero genre is also nothing quite new, and there are a plethora of stories that unravel our understandings of heroic characters. So, if To Be Hero X is not doing anything NEW, then it must certainly be doing something WELL, right?

First, looking at the story. We begin with Lin Ling, an everyman type who becomes one of the ...

Note: This review was made before I watched the sequel "Ave Mujica". Some criticisms may be refuted in the sequel, but I am reviewing this as a standalone work. If you are wondering, I personally recommend this anime, but beware if you hate melodrama (you will punch your screen).

Spoilers ahead.

There are a ton of anime focusing on girl groups and music (ranging from idols to bands to DJs to superpowers). MYGO is another one of these anime, and it excels in creating extremely realistic (and irritating) school drama. This can be compared to a work such as White Album 2, where the purpose of the ...

the story is slow burn, i don't know what to expect lol..i thought it would be enemy to love trope, but NO. it goes in totally different direction, even if you notice the romantic nuance it was so subtle and wrap really well to blend in the high school theme.
the female mc however..i don't get what the author is trying to depicted from her. beside she is too nice and forgiving, she so neutral that i bet she would forgive everyone with worst sin than male mc. she is so unconsistent and kind despite the situation, no emotion at all, so unhuman at least for ...

MiniPato appears unassuming, perhaps the SD Gundam concept applied to Patlabor? Some silly jokes with chibi characters? However, seeing Oshii had written the episodes made me reconsider, and I was right to, but MiniPato truly goes the extra mile for supposedly ancillary shorts.

Episode one is narrated by Gotou and has him on a rant like treatise on Labors and their weapons. Gotou has a sarcastic wit while being insightful and has an Oshii gag style in the visuals and with slapstick. Episode two continues this but ups the ante by featuring Shige, whose actor Shigeru Chiba is iconic in Oshii’s work for his ability to ...

This is a good anime to see in times of brain death. It easy, simple and feel good. The animation is week but the drawings are nice. It reminds me of "The Ossan Newbie Adventurer" in the fact than the MC is pathetically oblivious to his strength which makes it frustrating to watch when your mind is alert and sharp. On the other hand, on the other hand, watching this when your mind is foggy, this anime does the job. The absurdness of in acts as kind of a relaxing comedy relief.

Basically, to get the most of this anime, you need to be in the ...

7.25/10 ~ Amazing conclusion... but thats about it

Odd taxi was a bit of an odd show (pun intended), poorly animated which I think was a stylistic choice tbh, sound track was barely there, good English VA which is just standard in 2021, The choice of animals at first just seemed very odd, all the character relations and plot was glued together with convince. Honestly the first 4 or so episodes were pretty fucking boring and I turned if off, but I had several recommendations to stick through it because it had a glorious end. As I stuck through it, every 3-4 episodes gradually got better ...

I have been reading the manga for a few years and finally finished the anime.

Without mentioning the manga, the show itself is okay as it did a decent job for an adaption attempt.
The MC being the typical "lacking common sense" guy who is good willed to care about everything besides himself is within expectations?
He is unreasonably OP but at least in this show, there are decent attempts at justifying why/what happens.
Though the drawback is there are several moments we just have to "accept" this moment just because it's meant to be normal?

Story wise it's okay but after watching several episodes, you'll eventually feel like it ...

It's a shame when I heard that an anime was going to be made of this great franchise I thought that they were going to start building an animated adaptation that would tell the canonical story from the first game making many people who don't know the games interested in the franchise making them go for the available games increasing the fandom and the creation of new games but the only thing that was achieved was a failed project that only attracted a part of the public of experienced players or only those who played the last game since this project is based as its ...

After six long years, I have finally watched Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. This anime had been sitting in my playlist all that time, always waiting for the right moment. Now that I have experienced it, I can truly say this is one of those rare shows that feels like a journey—one filled with emotion, growth, and meaning. But how good is it ?

No doubt it's a legit underrated sh!t . so, don't believe haters .
Bye bye earth has many positive points such as beautiful ost ( composed by master kevin penkin ) , splendid animation ( very detail is upto point ) , deep meaning and philoshpy ( it even reminds me of orb)

This is a horrible anime even by horrible anime standards. The writing is bad, the emotions are badly written and expressed, and the MC is my least favorite ever. I would be embarrassed to have written this story. Art is ok....

I cannot express how bad this anime is.

The plot twists feel like they come about only because of bad writing. None of the characters are really likeable. I've watched a shit load of mecha anime, and this one seems to take all the bad parts and shoehorn them into one anime. Not a well rounded anime whatsoever. The premise is kinda nice, but so ...

A funny ride of emotions from cute moments to cringe moments . This show is heavily inspired from "the kid who moved from boonies ".
I marked this as mixed feelings because you can't argue with a typical isekai plot . so, better to watch without complaining , go with flow .
One more thing don't watch these kind of shows back to back e.g you just completed a trash iskeai and started again watching same kind of sh!t . It has some serious drawbacks e.g mood disorders , you might hate these kind of particular plots , So, no need to finish in single sitting . ...

You know what? Why not? Let's make this review first before the 2nd season ends. From now on, I'm going to use the new format I did with the Koihime anime review. So, let's get started.

How did I find this?
I have told you guys in my previous review about ghosts in any story. I wanted to know how they handle them, because it's one of the most unique concepts of a story, where the ghost can change the story significantly by using the body of a human around them to tell the story.
So, yeah, I found this anime through YouTube, trying to find a new ...

It's finally over...after 10 long years. What a journey it's been. We cried, we cheered, we laughed, and now it's time to say goodbye to one of the greatest pieces of fiction ever made.

Overall, the ending wraps things up beautifully.

I will not spoil anything, but I will say that there is a lot of subtlety and nuance to how things are concluded, not to mention some things are left ambiguous. There are so many things going on that it may be hard to keep up with all the different philosophies and motivations of the characters. Ultimately the meaning of the story and every character arc ...

super weird how the schoolgirl was in love with her middle-aged boss... and he was reciprocating? idk it gave me the ick personally and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. I saw pictures of the MC online and thought "Oh this is a cute anime girl, I wonder what her story is!" and then proceeded to waste my time. This type of trope though... isn't unique. and the cute art style kind of threw me off especially with the whole plot being not cute. It is rare these days to find a show that is simple, beautiful and profound. Violet Evergarden is all three.

Each episode plays out like a short story with something simple and beautiful to say, almost like a poem. It does not pretend to be overly important, grand, or philosophically deep. It just is as it is.

It explores themes of emotional connection, love, gratitude, loss, moving beyond tragedy, finding beauty in a world dominated by suffering, having purpose in life, bringing out the goodness in others, and most of all, appreciating the beauty that is all around us in the world.

My complaints are very small. Certain ...

The Apothecary Diaries follows Maomao, an apothecary in ancient China that gets unexpectedly sold off to the imperial court as a servant. Her fascination with poisons and medicine draws her into unraveling a series of mysteries. The mysteries are episodic and predictable at times, but they all connect to create a purposeful plot. Taking place in an ancient Chinese palace, this anime distinguishes itself with rich visuals and sounds. Each character is carefully crafted with appearances and personalities, leaving them with memorable designs. There's a satisfying balance between drama and humor which allows the story to be emotionally engaging without being overly heavy. With its ...

The series begins with a party of heroes who are celebrating their victory after they save the world. They are wondering what they should all do with their lives after the victory. As she is blatantly unaware of how quickly her friends will be dead, their deaths come too soon, and she begins to regret that she never got ...

So you can't go into this show expecting anything great from it. It's not offensively bad, but neither is it very good. This show is one where you're just kinda along for the ride.

The story has a lot of childish story beats, so I assume the target audience for this anime was somewhere around ages 8-12.

Things I liked:
- The show has some wacky moments that make you do the nose exhale. The show's comedy revolves around tropey romance jokes that have been told a thousand times, but a lot of the time you get to see it's ...

If you like harem anime than this show is for you, its got tons a choices for waifus and the main character isn't the worst Kuruto power fantasy as he falls squarely in the reasonable end of the spectrum for sexual harassment. For everyone else this show loses alot of points for being an isekai story at its core even though isekai has nothing to do with it. Its got the main character who is super uber powerful for no reason other than it makes the plot move fast along with the generic dnd style fantasy setting where the most exotic thing about the setting ...

Say what you will about this take, but this one special has more stylistic animation and better comedy than the entirety of the first season of the parent anime.

That doesn't mean that this is good, just goes to show how bad the first season was.

As for the show itself, it's not the best special ever made. The animation (as I mentioned above) is very simple, but it gets the job done. The voice acting and audio sounds a little unpolished, and the comedy wasn't laugh out loud worthy but still okay. What I'm trying to say here is that it was enough to make me ...

I watched this blind, having no knowledge of the source material until episode 10. I enjoyed it, even if it had some low frame rate animation, the animation itself was decently well drawn, and flowed well enough. If you are coming in blind like I did, and you enjoy power fantasy Isekai like I do, you'll will likely enjoy this too. Unfortunately I decided to read the source material after episode 10, because I didn't want to wait for a new episode. If you have read the source material, do not watch this. Yuru Camp was about the camping experience of 5 high school girls: the cute, the introvert, the idiot, the troll and the prankster. Though don't be fooled for neither is the story boring or the cast chemistry cliche. The show also solved the ultimate conundrum that had existed ever since the concept of camping was created: "How do I enjoy camping without ever leaving comfort of my home?"

By camping experience, it delivered the full package of the girls researching camp sites, shopping for camping equipment, doing part time job for money to buy said equipment, actually travelling to the camp sites, cooking camping meals, ...

Ousama Ranking is well made, as is to be expected from Wit Studio, but the nice guyification of fantasy is becoming a tiresome trend. If it is not a pretense like "gray morality" that rules the day and reveling in vileness, then we are increasingly presented with (basic bitch) layered villains who have the most unbelievable redemption arcs of all time. This results in authors trying to inject a touching backstory into their villain's motivation and having the hero spare or forgive his arch-nemesis, even if what they have done is treacherous, resulting in the deaths of many and the ruination of the kingdom. The ...

If it had been released at another time it probably would have attracted a lot of attention but I feel like it was released out of time, the story is very simple, no deep or mysterious lore, it's simply the protagonist chasing the girl he likes and getting strong for it, nothing more, but what it lacks in the story is compensated for in the animation, very well done and very fluid, this is the first Chinese animation I've seen and if the others are like this I want to see more, the purest juice of beating for those who like it and this is ...

My go-to good-time anime recommendation!!

Spy x Family has the basic elements to be popular, but this show takes the same prompt to a WHOLE different level. The characters' dynamics and personalities between the two is very similar, but don't let it scare you away. Buddy Daddies brings a much funnier and less "obvious" humor into the plot, which ultimately makes it more enjoyable to watch. I think I audibly laughed more with these 12 episodes than with 80% of other animes I've watched. On top of that, the character designs and color scheme brings a joyful feeling to the show, contrasting with its dark beginning ...

KurTard: "Tell me, do you fear me LoliTa-rd?"

Lying LoliTa-rd: "No, I even consider you a friend, and with that comes trust."

Whoever wrote these lines, the retard-in-chief, forgot that the whole fucking premise of this fucking show relies on lying to the protagonist (KurTard) about everything to the point that they'd rather have a fucking illusion of him to replace him, than tell him the truth about his own talents. All the while everyone abuses this kid constantly for every possible gain they can get out of him, while he works like a peon for free.

I really enjoyed this one. It’s a cute, fun, adventure. Now days I watch anime to escape reality, so light hearted adventures that aren’t too serious or heavy , are always welcome for me. Relaxes the soul.

Definitely has some similarities to things like “Kid from the last dungeon boonies” and “I parry everything” in the sense that the main gimmick is the MC not knowing how strong he actually is. I thought this anime in particular did a good job of covering little plot holes that usually comes with those kinds of anime.

Cocky anime Batman. What's not to like?

MC tells us in <10 minutes he's the strongest, and we immediately see him beat a bunch of mob guards and two top warriors, but instead of some stupidly OP ability or unbelievable strength, he just uses a utility belt packed with poisoned lego, flash grenades, Greek fire (?), and occasionally a simple short sword.

The animation is pretty decent. There is some CGI here and there, but it's not as terrible as in most modern series, it's relatively well-integrated (especially for an older series). The fight scenes are surprisingly well-done.

Speaking of things I didn't notice... the OST. Didn't stand ...

I usually don’t recommend anime, and to be honest, this is the first one that made me want to write a review—mainly because of the rating it’s been getting.

At first, I thought the low score was because of manga purists, since people often get triggered when an anime strays even a bit from the original manga. But no—it turns out a lot of the complaints are about the main character having multiple women.

Now, let me say: I also found that part unnecessary and even unrealistic. Some of the characters just wouldn’t be interested in a relationship with him given their backgrounds and personalities. Still, beyond ...

The visuals are very good.

I’ve already summarized my general thoughts before, but allow me to add a few things.
The story is vague—or rather, shallow. There’s nothing particularly deep to absorb beyond a relationship that never really comes to fruition. Even though the ending implies that the two end up together, and if I’m not mistaken, in Tenki no Ko (Weathering With You), Taki and Mitsuha are both living in Tokyo, so it’s only a matter of time until they meet again.

As with all of Makoto Shinkai’s films, a number of random, nonsensical things happen—and clearly, that’s the “point,” since the movie is rated +13, so ...

Frieren is a really good anime, but it is miles away from top tier ones such as fmab or aot. I cannot understand why it now has the number one spot, it does not deserve it at all.
The story has potencial, but sometimes it can get a little bit boring due to its slow pacing. Nonetheless, the fights are usually epic and the animation is sublime.

WTF Goro? This is some kiddy shit. Almost nothing ever happens stretched out as much as possible by having characters move around spamming a bunch of emotes like "HAHAHAHAHA!"x50 and "AAAAAAAAAH!"x50 for no goddamn reason as Goro stops the anime to insist that you watch his masturbatory indulgence in... a lake... and... a river... and... a tree... and... a squirrel... and... on and on and on while the MC spams more and more unprompted emotes the entire time... I'm all for anime that doesn't have anything in particular going on so long as it's entertaining. This wasn't it. I have nothing against Management of a Novice Alchemist but I find this anime really really boring. My rule of thumb with an anime is to give it at least 6 episodes to decide if I like it or not unless the anime is that abhorrent to the point I cannot continue with it. Watching this anime makes me feel like it was directed by a master craftsman working with dulled tools.

Lazarus has a simple premise that has immense potential: humanity's universal painkiller becomes a doomsday clock. Despite this, the anime fails to provide the philosophical weight in favor of stylized entertainment. The result isn't as offensive as others like to claim, but something arguably worse: a competent load of nothing.

Even after 11 episodes, I’m not entirely sure what to think about this anime. It’s refreshing but also confusing, interesting yet strange. The art style is well chosen and fits the tone of the story, which definitely has more depth than 90% of currently airing shows—but something still feels a bit off.

I’m hoping the series delivers a great story with a satisfying and meaningful ending, because the potential is definitely there.

Overall, if you’re looking for something different and more thoughtful than the usual throwaway seasonal shows, this anime might be it. But even after 11 episodes, it’s hard to tell exactly where we’re headed.

This anime promotes the worst possible values—betraying anyone you love just for sex and only thinking about that (no jk, the whole anime is about the MC talking about how he wants to lose his virginity). The main character doesn’t love anyone; he just wants to sleep with them or get something from others. He’s not your typical idealistic protagonist like you’d find in standard shonen series like One Piece or Naruto. It’s like they tried to copy the usual "kind-hearted protagonist" formula but completely failed. The writer or mangaka clearly lacks experience in character development. Everything seems to be written for convenience, with no ...

Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi is a weird show to review, because this was unironically one of my favorites this season in the beginning. An anime that disguises itself as a CGDCT that essentially kills all the cute girls right after they're introduced is a fun gag...until it's not.
